Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2025
👤 Who We Are
BottlesUp is an independent iOS app developed and maintained by a sole developer. References to "we", "us", or "our" in this policy refer to the developer of BottlesUp.
Questions about this policy can be sent to help@bottlesup.app.
📦 Data We Collect and Store
BottlesUp stores the following data, entered by you, locally on your device and in your personal iCloud account via Apple CloudKit:
- Baby profile names and photos you choose to add
- Feed records — date, time, ounces, and optional notes
This data is stored exclusively in your own iCloud account. We have no access to it at any time. It is not stored on any server we operate.
☁️ iCloud and Apple CloudKit
BottlesUp uses Apple CloudKit to sync your data across your devices and to enable co-parent sharing. Your data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy when stored in iCloud.
When you share data with a co-parent or caregiver, the people you explicitly invite through the app gain read and write access to the shared records you choose to share. You can revoke access at any time from within the app or through iCloud settings on your device.
Apple's privacy policy is available at apple.com/legal/privacy.
📣 Advertising (AdMob)
The free version of BottlesUp displays banner advertisements served by Google AdMob. Google's advertising SDK may collect and use data to show relevant ads, including:
- Device identifiers (IDFA, if you have granted permission)
- Coarse location (country/region level)
- Device type and operating system version
- Ad interaction data (impressions, taps)
This data is collected by Google, not by us, and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising on your device.
Purchasing BottlesUp Pro removes all advertisements and the Google AdMob SDK ceases to display ads.
💳 In-App Purchases
BottlesUp Pro is sold as a one-time non-consumable in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not handle or store any payment or billing information. Purchases are governed by Apple's Terms of Sale and Privacy Policy.
BottlesUp Pro supports Apple Family Sharing. If Family Sharing is enabled on your Apple ID, other members of your family group may access the Pro entitlement at no additional cost.
🔗 Data We Do Not Collect
To be explicit, BottlesUp does not:
- Operate any servers or backend infrastructure that stores your data
- Require you to create an account or provide an email address
- Collect analytics or crash reports beyond what Apple provides to all developers via Xcode Organizer
- Sell, rent, or share your data with any third party (other than Google AdMob as described above)
- Track your location
🧒 Children's Privacy
BottlesUp is designed for use by parents and caregivers of infants. While the app stores information about babies (names, feed records), it is intended to be used by adults.
We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. The app does not contain any features directed at children as end users.
🗑️ Deleting Your Data
Because all your data is stored in your own iCloud account, you can delete it at any time by:
- Deleting individual feeds or baby profiles within the app
- Deleting the app from your device (local data is removed immediately)
- Managing or deleting CloudKit data via Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage on your device
We have no ability to delete data on your behalf because we do not hold a copy of it.
🔄 Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
